The Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement was made possible by a gift from Jim Craigie, who had both hips replaced at the former University Medical Center at Princeton (now University Medical Center of Princeton in Plainsboro, N.J.). Mr. Craigie was so pleased with the quality of the care he received—and the improved quality of his life—that he made a gift to establish this extraordinary center.
Don’t let a painful hip or knee slow you down.
Every day you use your hips and knees as you walk, climb stairs and move through your life. So when injuries or common conditions cause these every day movements to become painful, it can stop you from enjoying your life. The good news? Joint replacement surgery can provide a safe and effective remedy—and get you back on your feet faster than you imagined.
Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement.
University Medical Center of Princeton (UMCP) has been providing outstanding orthopaedic care and joint replacement for decades and is now proud to be home to the Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement. Led by a team of board certified orthopaedic surgeons, a dedicated nurse navigator, specially trained nurses, skilled physical therapists and an outstanding staff, it combines personalized, supportive care with the latest techniques in hip and knee replacement surgery and recovery. In fact, the expert surgeons at UMCP perform over 700 joint replacements each year!
We’re with you, every step of the way.
The experts at the Jim Craigie Center for Joint Replacement have created a comprehensive program to help eliminate your pain and restore your strength and mobility so you can reclaim your life as soon as possible. From pre-admission testing and education classes prior to surgery and rehabilitation and pain management afterward, you will be informed about your care and actively involved with it at every step. You can even invite a family member or friend to play a very special role as your “Coach” as you prepare for surgery and recover from it. In most cases you’ll be on your feet walking—with very little or no pain—the very same day as surgery!
In addition, UMCP has an extensive Outpatient Rehabilitation Network offering a range of therapeutic and rehabilitation services. Our experienced staff offers individualized care to reduce discomfort and restore your mobility after joint replacement.
