Candice Bergen, perhaps best known for her iconic, award-winning role as Murphy Brown, will discuss her new book, A Fine Romance, during a special evening hosted by Princeton HealthCare System on Monday, April 6.

CandiceBergen-AFineRomanceThe event is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Hyatt Regency Princeton. To register, call 1-888-897-8979 or visit www.princetonhcs.org/calendar.

Registration is $40 per person, which includes a copy of Ms. Bergen's book, coffee, tea and light desserts. Beginning March 1, the cost will be $45 per person.

In A Fine Romance—a follow-up to Knock Wood, her 1984 bestselling "engaging, intelligent, and wittily self-deprecating autobiography" (The New York Times)—Ms. Bergen examines her marriage to famous French director, Louis Malle; the birth of her daughter, Chloe; her time on Murphy Brown, including unwanted attention in 1992, when Vice President Dan Quayle tried to turn her character's life choices into a campaign issue; the despair that she and Chloe felt when her husband died; widowhood; falling in love again; and her overpowering love for her daughter and the bittersweet feeling of watching her leave home and blossom.

Ms. Bergen's film credits include The Sand Pebbles, Carnal Knowledge, Starting Over (for which she received an Oscar nomination), and Miss Congeniality. On television, she made headlines as the star of Murphy Brown, for which she won five Emmys, and later starred with James Spader and William Shatner in the critically acclaimed series Boston Legal. She is also a gifted writer, authoring numerous articles and a play, as well as her first bestselling memoir, Knock Wood.
