Marcia Miller Telthorster, MEd, CCP, CHHR, is Vice President, Human Resources, of Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS). Ms. Telthorster works closely with management to support and respond to the needs of PHCS’ 3,000 employees. Her responsibilities include planning, organizing and directing all aspects of the Human Resources Department. This includes employment, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, employee training/development, ensuring compliance with governmental law and regulations related to personnel management, and development and administration of policies and procedures. She also provides operational oversight for Religious Ministries, the Volunteer Services Department and Occupational Health.
Ms. Telthorster has more than 25 years’ experience in healthcare, primarily in human resources. Before joining PHCS, Ms. Telthorster worked as a consultant, managing a dependent benefit eligibility audit that netted annual savings of $5.6 million and developing the business case, strategy and tactics for a culture of inclusion diversity initiative for Catholic Health East, a multi-institutional health system based in Newtown Square, Pa.
Previously, Ms. Telthorster served as Vice President, Human Resources, for St. Mary Medical Center, a 2,400-employee acute care medical center in Langhorne, Pa., that is part of the Catholic Health East system.
Ms. Telthorster also worked as Director, Human Resources, for Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, Pa., providing HR support to 2,300 employees at multiple locations. She began her career at Doylestown Hospital as the Director of Volunteer Services, managing 1,000 hospital volunteers.
A graduate of Penn State University in University Park, Pa., Ms. Telthorster also received her master’s degree in education from Penn State. She has been a Certified Compensation Professional since 1999 and was recently in the premier group of Certified Healthcare Human Resources (CHHR) professionals. Ms. Telthorster serves on the Workforce Investment Board in Bucks County, Pa., and is a board member of the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Association Advocacy Committee.
