Educational ObjectivesAt the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
Discuss briefly anatomy of the shoulder, spine, hip, and knee.
- Review the rationale for the following procedures: arthroscopic Bankart, Remplissage, and Latarjet.
- Review current concepts and research in shoulder, spine, hip and knee.
- Review clinical outcomes in order to better assess patient outcomes.
- Develop and implement an effective plan of care that is evidence based, provides timely recovery and patient satisfaction.

About the Speakers
Dr. Frederick Song, M.D.
Dr. Song received his Doctorate of Medicine from Jefferson Medical College. He completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following residency, Dr. Song completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas in Greenville, South Carolina where he received specialized training in knee and shoulder arthroscopy, as well as complex knee and shoulder reconstruction. During his fellowship, Dr. Song served as an assistant team physician for the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team and the Boston Red Sox affiliate Greenville Drive baseball team. He is currently the team orthopaedic surgeon for the Peddie School and Ewing High School and serves as a consultant for numerous other high schools and colleges in the area. He is with Princeton Orthopedic Associates.
Dr. Dhimant Balar, M.D.
Dr. Dhimant Balar is a board certified physician in both internal medicine and sports medicine. After obtaining his medical training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, he completed an internal medicine residency at SUNY Stony Brook in Long Island, NY, as well as a sports medicine fellowship at Pennsylvania Hospital. Dr. Balar is currently the medical director and team physician of the athletic training program for the Monmouth University Hawks at Monmouth University. He is an Associate Director of the Spine Institute of Central Jersey at the Centra State Medical Center and serves as consultant school physician for Freehold Township High School.
Dr. Joseph Zeni, PT, PhD
Joseph Zeni, Jr. PT, PhD received his Baccalaureate of Science and his Master of Physical Therapy degrees at Quinnipiac University. After working for several years in inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic settings, Dr. Zeni completed his PhD at the University of Delaware in the Biomechanics and Movement Science Program. He subsequently received a post-doctoral fellowship to study Clinical Outcomes at the University of Delaware in the Department of Physical Therapy. Dr. Zeni's current research interests pertain to enhancing the quality of life and improving the value of rehabilitation for patients after total joint replacement. Specifically, Dr. Zeni is interested in developing clinical interventions that improve physical activity and recreational participation after surgery. Dr. Zeni is an Associate Professor in the DPT North program and currently teaches Anatomy, Imaging, and Research courses.
